Wetland and River Restoration
NOTE: normally taught in winter quarter


 

Credit hours: 3                                     Time: Mondays, Wednesdays 8:30 to 10:00 AM
Prerequisite:  ENR 725 Wetland Ecology and Management

Course Design: Lectures and recent literature reviews on the restoration and creation of
wetlands and riverine systems. Course includes both ecosystem design principles and practical
design practices for successful ecological engineering of these systems. Course includes case
studies such as river/wetland restorations in Delaware Bay, Skjern River (Denmark), Louisiana
Delta, Mesopotamian Marshlands (Iraq), Olentangy River Wetlands, and Everglades.
