RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
Specific research objectives to be featured under this overall goal are:
creating and restoring wetlands for water quality and habitat improvement and providing ways to measure their success;
providing the science to help insure the success of "wetland trading" where wetlands are restored or built to make up for wetlands lost to development;
understanding the science and eco-engineering necessary to reduce flooding of streams and rivers through ecological solutions throughout the Midwest;
providing the ecological basis for having our state waters meet the 'fishable and swimmable' goal of the Clean Water Act.
